In the Log Update of 18th May, Alex indicated that, with the accumulation of
small (but expensive) disasters, the treasury coffers are starting to look a
little sad. His exact words were:
"pse buy lots of shirts, everyone - fenwick and isabella organising and should
be available soon - we'll need some support by the time we get to the start
line in sydney"
There has been quiet talk for some time now about the possibility of creating a
souvenir t-shirt for Alex and Pete (and possibly even Leroy) to sign and give
as thanks to people who have assisted with this escapade. That then grew into
the idea of making a few extras to auction for charity or for people like us to
buy.
As the idea became more widely known, more and more people expressed their
enthusiasm so here it is - your chance to
- get a nice shirt
- show you're one of a pretty special team of supporters
- have a memento of a terrific shared experience
- contribute to a very worthy cause.
The shirt initiative is made on behalf of all the readers of the site who have
shared in the Berrimilla journey and who feel they might like to contribute a
financial something to the adventure. When Alex and Peter arrive at Falmouth
they will no doubt have views on how any profits should be apportioned and in
buying a shirt or fleece you are tacitly agreeing to whatever fund or funds
they may eventually select!
Isabella (Alex's sister) designed a logo based on the intersection of Berri's
track with the International Space Station (ISS) and Allan ('Fenwick' to those
in the know) has adapted it for embroidering on clothing. A full list of items
available is at the bottom of this page together with the link to the order
form.
